IT Focus
One of the key ingredients for success at Client Server Technology is staying focused in an ever changing, rapidly moving industry that is technology. Two of the major pitfalls of why IT services companies go out of business are shortsightedness and the inability to change or evolve. If you don't think so, ask an old Nortel, Cabletron, Wang, Digital and/or even Novell employee about how marketable their skills and services are today. Even in Q3 of 2003, look at Gateway 2000. With SEC investigations and dwindling sales affecting their stock price, will they be around in 2004? By then, you might not have a friend in the business.
"To remain at the forefront of our industry, calculated growth begins with extensive research on new products; not by jumping into the latest fad or trend. We receive at least 100 new software and hardware products and/or solicitations every month, and each one promises that it is the best or newest solution and how our clients need them. In the end, very few are. From inferior products and lack of cohesive business organizations to stifling high debt and minimal product support engineers, we have learned that product success in this industry depends upon much more than an effective sales force.
Our name is on every solution we recommend and implement, so the product and the company who makes the product is scrutinized, researched and tested extensively, from the product itself to the company. What good is a new VPN utility or backup solution if the company that manufactures it goes out of business in a year and no-one is around to support and/or upgrade it? Our job, in addition to providing the solutions, is to look ahead for our clients to ensure their IT investments are sound. Keeping our finger on the pulse of what shapes and drives our market is essential for ensuring both our clients' and CST's future "
